What amazing students we have at Avon Elementary School. Max Desmit decided that this year he would set kindness goals for himself. He wanted to build and donate Buddy Benches to our school so that his peers would have a place on the playground where they could go when they want someone to talk to or play with. In order to raise the funds needed to build the benches, Max designed a t-shirt for sale! Max does most of the work to create these shirts and fulfill the orders, with his mom's help.
Max's project has been so generously supported that he was able to fund additional projects beyond the Buddy Benches. Not only was he able to purchase items to support our local angel tree recipients, he also purchased 20 pairs of shoes for the school to have on hand to support students in need as well. To carry his message of kindness even farther, Max purchased and created an amazing kindness banner to hang in our school as a reminder to all of his peers to "Be the kind kid!"
We are so lucky to have such an awesome kind-hearted kid and a such a supportive family in our district. Thank you Max for all you are doing for our school, community, and students! We look forward to adding the Buddy Benches to our playground.
Below are pictures of Max and the shoes he donated, his amazing banner, and the t-shirt he designed. I'll post pictures of our Buddy Benches as soon as we get them installed on the playground!
As Max would say, "Kindness Rocks"!
