There is a slight chance we will be able to go out tomorrow for lunch recess. Please make sure kiddos are bundled up. HGS K-5 students go outside when the real feel temperature is 20 degrees. Pre-K students go out when the real feel is 25 degrees or above. If we are able to go outside, students will be playing on the 3-5 playground as the K-2 playground fence is not in place on Highway 41.

Recorder notes and order forms were sent home on Monday, January 13, 2025. We kindly ask you to check your child's backpack for these important documents.
This year, the cost of a recorder is $5. Students are also welcome to bring in a recorder from an older sibling at no additional cost.
Please ensure that all orders, along with payment, are submitted by January 21, 2025. Orders can be returned to Mrs. Rakestraw or the HGS Office.
If you are unable to locate the order form, you may write your child's name, class, and color choice on an envelope or a separate piece of paper.

In 1st grade Library/Stem class with Mrs. Anderson, we read a couple stories about the moon. Then we talked about the moon phases. Students then cut out crescent moons and we put baking soda on the paper. Then they watched the chemical reaction when they dropped yellow colored vinegar on their moons.
