This is a reminder that all students have packets of class work and/or online instruction and work to provide as much continuity to learning for our students when they are out due to circumstances out of our control, like this winter weather. Students are expected to complete the work sent home and return it to school or submit online the next day we have school. Teachers have included a note with the packets with contact information in case students or parents have any questions or need clarification concerning any of the work sent home.
There will be no school tomorrow due to freezing temps., high winds and poor road conditions. All K through 5 Hedding students were given packets of class work to complete in the event of another missed day due to weather. Please read the attached letter which explains the new Illinois legislation which allows for school attendance days to be defined by the district as long as students are participating in learning for a portion of the day. Each teacher has included a note with contact information in case parents or students have any questions.
Due to rapidly deteriorating road conditions, dismissal time has been moved to 12:20 today, Thursday, January 24, 2019.
All A-Town 276 schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. today.
There is no school today, January 22, due to blowing and drifting snow.
The Eureka Math Parent University scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled to a later date. Information will be sent home with students, put on the website and on the Hedding Facebook page when a new date is scheduled.
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered online by UChicago Impact until February 15, 2019. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains.
If at least 20 percent of Hedding Grade School parents complete this survey, a parent supplement report will also be generated. The parent data will not be reported on the State Report Card.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
To take the survey please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin.
