On Thursday May 9, 2019 seven Abingdon-Avon CUSD #276 staff members were recognized at the 2nd Annual Excellence in Education Banquet:
Mindy Riney, Jamelia Tinkham, Stephanie McKinley-Miller, and our District Guidance and Social Work Team (Cordan Beebe, Denise Phillips, Margie Winski, and Stacy Nagel)
Over the next week, each one of these amazing staff members will be highlighted.
Today, it is my honor to highlight Mrs. Stephanie McKinley-Miller (or as almost everyone knows her; Mrs. M&M):
According to Avon Campus Principal, Mrs. Kristi Anderson:
Not every school district is blessed enough to have a librarian. We are blessed with a librarian who goes above and beyond daily for our students and staff. Mrs. M&M has 40 plus years in education and every day puts our students and staff first. Besides an amazing library selection that is updated regularly to hold student interest, Mrs. M&M is also the driving force behind our Makerspace. She has written numerous grants to keep both the library and Makerspace current and engaging for our students. Mrs. M&M is also the Interact Club sponsor with over 95 students serving the Avon Campus through project such as Students Offering Service and the Recycling Team. She also hosts several fundraisers through the club, donating $1000s each year to local charities.
Thank you Monday for all you do for the students at our Avon Campus!
