This year we asked each new staff member to share a little of their personal history with us. We asked them where they grew-up, went to high school and college, why they became teachers, and a few questions to provide a little insight on them outside of just teaching.
Mrs. Kitch will be teaching 6th and 7th Grade ELA . Below is her backstory:
Mrs. Kitch was born and raised in Galesburg, IL. She graduated from Galesburg High School and attended both Carl Sandburg College and Western Illinois University.
Mrs. Kitch became a teacher because she "was a struggling student that had many teacher that believed in me. Without those teachers I wouldn't be where I am today. Their love of education and students is what inspired me to want to make a difference in kids' lives."
Her Favorite Hobby: Collecting and reading comic books - all thanks to her husband.
Her Favorite Sports Team: Green Bay Packers.
Her Favorite Book: Odd Thomas, by Dean Koontz.
Her Favorite Food: Steak (at the moment).
Her Favorite Color: Green.
Something cool about Mrs. Kitch: She hands out full-sized candy bars and comic books on Halloween.
Please be sure to make Mrs. Kitch feel welcome in our wonderful district.
